UNSW Innovation Summit 2016

The UNSW Innovation Summit is a major annual event, where leaders come together to discuss and examine Australia’s performance and approach to innovation.

In 2016 the UNSW Innovation Summit focuses on Australia’s global competitive edge. What is Australia’s “offering” in the global innovation marketplace and how can we improve it? This is examined at three levels:

  • In a national context: what are we doing at a national level that genuinely sets as apart and above other similar economies
  • At a corporate level: what factors do our corporations have they enable them to out compete their international rivals in innovation based industries, and
  • Characteristics of Australians: realistically, what cultural elements do we have that allow us to out-innovate other nations

Technology Showcase

For the first time in 2016, there will also be a showcase of recent technology and innovation success stories. The showcase will provide an opportunity to see first hand how Australian technology innovation is achieving global impact. There will be a range of examples on show where original knowledge and technology sourced from university research has been taken up by business partners big and small in order to achieve a competitive edge.

The UNSW Innovation Summit presentations will run from 9am until approximately 4pm. The Technology Showcase will follow on and will include a networking function with drinks and canapés. It is possible to register for either the Summit (including Showcase) or the Showcase only.
