Maximising Research productivity (and still have a life)

31 August 2016 - 10:00am

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to inform you of a new workshop that WiRN is offering to its members:

Maximising Research Productivity (and still having a life)

PresenterDr Maria Gardiner

Date: Wednesday 31st August 2016

Time: 10:00am - 12:30pm including lunch and networking

As a busy academic/researcher do you feel like you never have enough time to get to your research, particularly the writing part of your research? And  that other things like students, administration, committees, emails, project management etc demand all your time? And that's just work. No matter how much you enjoy your research it's a fair bet that there are other parts to your life too. For example you probably have family or friends, you may have social commitments and you may even have some personal interests (or would like to have some!).

This workshop shows you how to guarantee you spend high quality time on your research outputs. It covers prioritising, writing for publication and managing competing demands in a university context.

If you want to increase your research output without compromising your work/life balance, then this workshop is for you. Key aspects of this workshop have featured in the journal Nature.

This workshop will show you how to:

  • Prioritise research
  • Deal with distractions
  • Increase writing productivity
  • Say No
  • Deal with the single biggest productivity sucker
  • Deal with workload
  • Get home “on time”
  • Get some pleasure back in work!

Register now to secure your spot.  A light lunch and refreshments will be served.

 With best wishes,

Women in Research Network
